The Future of Health is Health Communication. There is significant public mistrust of health and wellness professionals and entrepreneurs. Even though health and wellness experts have THE most important message to share, very few are skilled in the art & science of message delivery to emotionally inspire desired audiences to take action. This is why Dr. Reef Karim created Mad Genius.
Reef Karim is the triple threat of scientist, performer, and entrepreneur AND a well-known thought leader in the world of mental health, existential exploration, medicine, advertising, and entertainment. He has been interviewed by Oprah, Anderson Cooper, Deepak Chopra, Larry King, Dr Oz, Dr Phil and many many other television and podcast influencers, for his expertise on the human mind and productivity and performance.
Dr. Reef has hosted network television shows on the Discovery, Court TV, and Science networks; worked as a consultant writer for ABC’s Private Practice, and trained in narrative writing for television, audience engagement strategy, and directing/producing at UCLA Film School. He has also provided his expertise as a medical and psychological consultant for many feature films including: Bourne Identity, Thirteen, Lords of Dogtown, and others.
For hosting, teleprompter reading, and scripting to expression on camera, Reef trained with Oprah's trainers and had his own talk show pilot for syndication.
Reef has also worked as a supportive and lead actor in feature films and television shows including: Veep, Laurel Canyon, Lost Transmissions, and Flavors. Reef trained in improvisation technique with the Groundlings and Stephen Book and performed stand-up comedy in clubs all over the west coast including the World-Famous Improv in LA, the Comedy Story, and the HaHa Club.
In radio, Dr. Reef guest hosted the famous show, Loveline, with Adam Carolla, and did a regular radio show with comic and host Tim Conway Jr. He’s also been on the speaker circuit, from high powered board rooms to speaking on big stages to an audience of 12,000 people in Europe.
Reef is also a double-board certified physician and scientist, specializing in humanistic psychiatry, existential psychology, neuroscience, creativity, and human-performance. He served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA for over a decade; published in prestigious medical and psychological journals, and as an entrepreneur, he founded, operated, and successfully exited a highly successful Beverly Hills treatment center.
